More Information Released on Crash near Petitcodiac
The RCMP are releasing more details around the crash on highway 1 near Petitcodiac yesterday that claimed two lives.

31 year old Gregory Banguay of Saint John, and 29 year old Michael McAloon from Fredericton were killed when their vehicle rear ended a transport truck that was gearing down.
The roads were extremely slippery and icy at the time, and the RCMP want to remind motorists to slow down, and take your time while travelling.

Thoughts and prayers are with their friends at families. Sad to see such a genuine guy go....

Both guys were really nice. I will miss them. I used to carpool to work with Greg when he lived right up the road from me, and we both worked at RMH, had a lot of really great conversations. And Mike was always entertaining, always had a smile, and some odd information to share.

I can't even believe this. I didn't know Mike very well, but he was good friends with my brother who is very upset right now. Mike was smart, talented, friendly and an overall nice guy who will be missed very much. Best wishes to his family and friends, I know he had a lot of them.

Mike played at the first show I ever attended. The first time I met him, he grabbed my balls and smiled. Then we played in a band together for three years.

Mike was an absolutely tremendous talent as a drummer and a musician in general, and although we didn't always see eye-to-eye in Hospital Grade, he was endlessly inspiring to play with. Not only that, but Mike was an excellent human being as well: caring, giving, intelligent (although he never gave himself nearly enough credit on that front), and truly a hilarious guy.

Our relationship as bandmates was strained only because both of us had such an endless capacity for stubbornness. We hadn't spoken in about a year, and I guess now we'll never be able to. I wish nothing more than to have not let the experiences we had in a band together get in the way of our friendship. I am proud to have known Mike and profoundly sorry to see him go so young. Rest in peace, friend. You'll be missed by many.

I didn't really know Greg, but hear nothing but the best of him. You couldn't get a better guy than Mike. Sad, sad news.

Mike was one of the first people i met when i moved back to saint john in '96. he would do anything for anyone. always had a big smile and a hug to give. i remember him pointing out constellations, discussing conspiracy theories and then coming out with some random hilarious tidbit to make you laugh until your sides hurt.

Greg i met on occasion, usually at shows or gatherings of good friends. though he barely knew me, he'd always give me a big hug when we were reintroduced.

i'm sure Mike would explain that really their energy was just dispersed into the universe and is now just floating about here, there and everywhere.
i still think it just happened to soon.

take care guys, and play safe in the cosmos.

Just got back from Mike's funeral. What an amazing tribute that was and I am so glad I was able to attend.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to those who knew Mike so well. He obviously touched so many lives and meant so much to so many. I did not know Mike very well but had endless respect for his skill and always enjoyed shooting the shit with him when I was able to.

I am so sorry for the loss my friends...

Mike was in my dream this morning. No one in the dream knew he had passed away but me and i assumed him. He had that smiley smirk on his face and leaned in to tell me something and then i woke up. Weird.

My roommate is looking for anyone willing to say some kind words about Mike for an upcoming memorial article. Anyone interested, contact me asap!

edit: she is the editor of the Brunswickan, in case you were wondering where this article would be appearing.
