Has anybody been watching Bob's Burgers on Fox, in between the Simpsons and Family Guy? It's my new favorite show! #1 in households between my property lines!

It's the same dude who made Home Movies, and H. John Benjamin voices Bob! I haven't laughed uncontrollably at a T.V show in a long time.

Haven't seen it but that pic has a familiar look to it. Almost like it's a cross between, I don't know, The Simpsons and Family Guy.

It has Eugene Mirman and Kristen Shaal as voice actors, which is a plus.

Otherwise I'm on the fence about it. I've only seen the pilot though.

I really liked the pilot a lot. "The Child Molester" (which comes with candy, of course) made me laugh really hard, mostly thanks to Kristen Schaal being awesome. Also, "grinding the meat"!

Has there been a second episode?

It was hilarious, smart and original, unlike, say, The Family Guy...

Yeah, the animation isn't very interesting, but I guess it had to be cleaned-up to get on Fox. The writing still has the loose improvised narrative feeling of Home Movies though. And the voice acting is brilliant.

Yup. Last week. Bob accidentally finds a false wall in the apartment just as his wife's parents come to visit, so he decides he'll pretend to be trapped in there. There's a lot of really funny conversations from inside of walls.

I love her. I laughed out loud several times just due to her...

Great. Another show I have to download illegally.
I'm going to start feeling bad about this stuff soon.

Most shows are available free and legal on network www's.
Global has the first two episodes of Bob's Burgers up right now.

No need to feel bad!

Yep. There's also some of the same crew that worked on Dr. Katz if anyone remembers that show.

I found Dr.Katz on DVD in a bin at Canadian Tire for $7 in December. I brought it home & told my wife she found me the best xmas present ever... It was the best day ever.

The animation immediately reminded me of Dr Katz, but less jumpy.

Damn... I thought this was a thread about Bobs on the west side... I'd kill a sickly lawnmower for a cheeseburger platter. That show is funny though.

I watched most of the first episode, patiently waiting for the show to be as good as people have said it is. Didn't happen.

Also just finished episode three, best yet!

A contender for favorite moment, Bob talking to Tina at the beginning of the first episode:
"My crotch is itchy."
"Okay, are you telling me as my daughter or my grill cook?"
"Umm... as..."
"Because my grill cook would never tell me that."
"Oh."
"Also, my daughter should probably not say anything like that to me."

My favorite character so far is Teddy the contractor.

"Wow! What a movie! Hey, Bob... what a movie!"

or...

Teddy: "Well I'm still gonna have to charge you for today."

Bob: "Today? You just stood there... talking."

Teddy: "My therapist says if I don't value my time, no one will."

neato, I gotta see this thing.

So it's a Brendon Small production then? That's sweet, I always felt that Home Movies should have attracted a larger audience than it did, and that it was the most realistic tv show on in the late 90's/early aughts, even though it was a poorly drawn cable cartoon.

Brendon Small doesn't have anything to do with as far as I know. The co-creator of Home Movies, Loren Bouchard, is the person behind Bob's Burgers.

just watched the last 2. Awesome. What bugs me in the negative comments on TV.COM which is a pretty good indicator of the show's success with mainstream audiences.

If that reads correctly, it will be cancelled.

it is so funny...so much better than most other crap out there

Bob's hooker friends killed me...
