James Craig to run as write-in for Michigan GOP primary

DETROIT (AP) – Former Detroit police chief, James Craig, said that he would present himself as a candidate for writing the republican primary for the governor after fraudulent signatures on the petitions left him unless the Minimum to obtain the ballot of August 2.

“I’m not going to ride,” said Craig Thursday evening on WJBK-TV, Fox 2 Detroit. “It’s not about me as a candidate. These are Michigan voters.

Craig was considered a leading chief of the GOP with a large recognition of the name in southeast Michigan before he and four other Republicans were scratched from the ballot due to bogus signatures returned by paid circulators.

“I’m going to run as writing,” said Craig. “I’m going to be the next governor.”

The rich business consultant Perry Johnson asks a federal judge to relaunch his campaign, although his trial is in the long term.

Five candidates remain in the Republican primary: Tudor Dixon, Kevin Rinke, Ryan Kelley, Garrett Soldano, and Ralph Rebandt. The winner will face Gretchen Whitmer Democratic Governor, in November.

Kelley was arrested on Thursday and accused of crimes for his participation in the riot of the American Capitol on January 6, 2021. Defense lawyer, Heath Lynch, said that Kelley “had the intention of continuing his campaign seriously. “
